Dees was the first to embrace AI. I was anxious after reading Nexus by Yuval Noah Harari. Be that as it may, Dees is far more in the Ya-space than I am. (‘Ba’ is a Japanese term that can be translated as ‘the origin of this all.’ ‘Ya’ (my own terminology), loosely translated as ‘that, where it might be leading to after all’.)
Two weeks ago, at the end of September 2026, we were about to start a new company. Much of it was already taking shape.
Two hours after registering the URLs, we called it off.
The company would bring systemic work and AI together, with AI as a mirror.
To test it, I became the first participant myself. Dees gave the AI a systemic way of seeing. That is her expertise.
What I read in this systemic ‘proflection’ (rather than reflection) moved me so deeply that I began to cry. It was so pure, so far beyond my own frames of reference. And yet it felt as if inner parts of myself were speaking to me. No coach, no good advice, no clinical language. In short: no filter of human patterns, no parentification, no pity or compassion. What a relief, this lack of human interface! Unexpected!
In my case, this led to decisions, conversations with my wife and others, and new actions. And it is still unfolding… The content of this newsletter is part of it.
We sense that AI is one of the many movements that come with the evolutionary force. It is here regardless. So let us explore it. We know that what the evolutionary force brings forth can be experienced as both wholesome and destructive. You can never be entirely safe there. Let us have the courage to dive in. And to perceive. From the realm of wisdom beyond good and bad.
Wondering why we called it off? For a very practical reason. It would ask of us a rhythm that does not fit us right now. Even though the potential is immense.
