The pain of stopping to use our systemic home ‘The Three Ashes’ is still sharp and pops up unexpectedly. My head knows this is the logical consequence of the decision to only work in the future on invitation instead of continuing offering programs in our dear venue. There is also a sense of freedom and new space in going with this movement from the evolutionary force, but the pain and the tears of goodbyes are there. Both.
Leaving our dear venue is a movement of unraveling. Even dis-entangling. And then I’m in the void, this meaningful emptiness that wants to be filled with new, yet different meaning. My head knows the void is valuable, my body and being feel it differently: fears, doubts, nightly demons, tears and uncertainty are part of what my being experiences.
What I’m experiencing these days is an expression of this eternal systemic movement: unraveling and reconnecting in a different way. Lovingly freeing yourself from any tentacles and allowing new connections to be created.
The eternal systemic movement of unraveling and re-connecting is universal. It’s not at all always smooth, joyful or comfortable. These, seemingly opposite movements are a source of a life-flow.
Both forces: disconnecting and reconnecting are of equal value, even if we have judgements about one of them or both. There is as much value in disconnecting as in reconnecting. There is as much value in wanting to belong as in not belonging anymore.
We all know this dynamic imbalance in take and give: the engine behind a lively exchange.
What (at least in the systemic world) we are less aware of is this dynamic dance of belonging and unraveling. This eternal systemic movement.
What is the result of this movement? Mainly transition into a next phase of existence. What is the result of not going with this movement? Staying where you are, knowing what you have, doing and being more of the same. There is a choice in going with the eternal movement or staying where you are. Both options are valuable. Both options are nourished by loyalties and (unknown) consequences
What’s the driving force behind this eternal systemic movement? The evolutionary force.
Does this eternal systemic movement have a rhythm? Sure, from conception until death and even beyond. For humans, but also for nature, organizations, concepts, countries and so on.
When I look at my life, I can see, feel, sense this eternal systemic movement. Its pace, its rhythm, its dancing, its up and downs, its pains and joys.
What’s your eternal rhythm? Can you hear it? Can you feel it? Can you float on it, beyond your plans?
