“Bringing people and teams in contact with their full potential” is what you can wake Jan Jacob up for. That, and paragliding.
Since 1996, he has devoted his heart to systemic work in organizations. The downside is that he sometimes forgets that not everyone speaks “system language.” That’s where Dees comes in.
As a manager, consultant, founder of multiple companies and pioneer of systemic work in the Netherlands (though he is extremely modest about this), it is curiosity that drives him.
In his quest to better understand the world, he has developed numerous applicable concepts for the development, transition and transformation of teams, organizations, and even societal issues.
He is a master at capturing the essence of apparent complexity in simplicity.
“The most likely outcome in a system is that nothing changes, even if we want it to. First, because the patterns beneath the surface are so strong. And second, because there are always very good reasons why a team, organization, person or other living system is the way it is now. When you begin to see, deeply understand and respect those good reasons, something shifts, allowing new movement to become possible. I find that incredibly interesting.”
